History of Gorodets painting
The first toy painted in the Gorodets style was a horse. Yes, that same simple rocking horse. Already in the 20th century, in the 1950s, an improved version of it was developed at the factory based on sketches by E. Vorontsova — this model became iconic and the most beloved by children! The toy was durable and lasted in families for years, being part of all children’s playtime. It also brings lots and lots of joy to modern children.

Shaping the Turned Product
We turn a turned product by hand from linden.
We paint
Apply a background layer of tempera paint
We create a composition
We apply the main color accents of the floral and narrative elements of the composition.
Don't forget about shadows!
In the flower arrangement, apply darker colors. Use cherry and dark blue to shade the flowers, and black to shade the green and brown leaves.
The colors will sparkle with life!
Use white and yellow paint to enliven the colors. Cover with water-based varnish in two layers. Dry thoroughly between the first and second layers.
